The perfect place to make art in Devon
“[paint] how it feels to be in the countryside” Samuel Palmer
Elen Claire Williams is a Fine Artist based in the village of Aveton in South Devon; this location is elemental in the artist’s oeuvre. The artist seeks to convey and document our fleeting relationship with the environment; seeking to raise awareness of its fragility and recognise that by our actions we are losing countless species every day, a loss that diminishes the life quality of every living creature. At our feet are the wonders of creation and we hold its future in our hands.
Georgia O’Keeffe said:
“When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, It is your world for a moment.”
However, rather than plucking it only to discard shortly after, the artist suggests you get down to its level to appreciate so much more, see its world instead…
